The San Diego neighborhood of Encanto is actually comprised of several individual communities, including Chollas View, Lincoln Park, Emerald Hills, Valencia Park, Encanto, Broadway Heights, and Alta Vista. The encompassing district can be divided into North and South Encanto, with the main thoroughfare Broadway dividing the two enclaves. Big-chain and independent grocery markets, convenience stores, and retail outlets line the streets of this slow-paced community. Government services, like a local post office are also available. Situated less than 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean, residents of Encanto are close to beaches in the popular North County area, as well as fantastic destinations in the south, such as the beautiful Mission Bay.
